Programs: ESOL Endorsement
Investigate why ESOL students communicate better with their English-speaking peers outside the classroom than when they participate in academics. Learn to take advantage of that difference! Interact with an experienced facilitator as you watch videos, share with colleagues, and initiate effective strategies to help ESOL students in your classroom.

This program targets Florida's Category 1 teachers (language arts and certain reading teachers). Course content aligns with standards for Florida's K-12 ESOL Endorsement. See the ESOL Course Matrix for a correlation of Beacon's courses with Florida's ESOL standards.

Programs: E-R-T (ESOL Endorsement)
Explore cultural diversity and its implications for you and your students. Determine how to actively engage LEP students as you apply your knowledge of ESOL appropriate methods through various implementation techniques. Discover concepts and principles of applied linguistics and differentiated instruction and learn to use them with your English language learners (ELLs).

Educators with Florida's K-12 Reading Endorsement may qualify to add ESOL Endorsement using the E-R-T option. Programs: ESOL for Content-Area Teachers
Meet the educational needs of students for whom English is not their native language. Delve into various content-area strategies for your classroom to support English language learners (ELLs). Explore language acquisition processes and implications for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students.

These courses target Florida's Category 2 teachers (math, science, social studies, and computer literacy) and Category 3 teachers (other areas). Category 2 teachers take all three courses while Category 3 teachers need only one course. Course content aligns with Florida's requirements.

Programs: ESOL for Administrators
Meet the challenge of educating a multicultural student population by understanding the background and legal requirements for ESOL students. Understand how culture affects communication and what steps can be taken to increase communication across cultures as you investigate instructional leadership skills that will make a difference for you and your staff.
