	Beacon ESOL Courses Dealing with a large, multicultural population can be challenging for educators! Beacon provides programs for teachers, administrators, and guidance counselors. Programs: ESOL Endorsement Investigate the areas of methods, curriculum and materials, testing and evaluation, cross-cultural understanding, and applied linguistics. This program targets Florida's Category 1 teachers (language arts and certain reading teachers). Course content aligns with standards for Florida's K-12 ESOL Endorsement. See the ESOL Course Matrix for a correlation of Beacon's courses with Florida's ESOL standards. Programs: E-R-T (ESOL Endorsement) Complement your existing knowledge of reading instruction with ESOL methodology. Educators with Florida's K-12 Reading Endorsement or certification may qualify to add ESOL Endorsement using the E-R-T option. Beacon's recommended courses for this option align to Florida's Reverse Crosswalk (Reading-to-ESOL). See the E-R-T Program Matrix for a correlation of Beacon's courses with Florida's ESOL standards. Programs: ESOL for Content-Area Teachers Learn to support the needs of LEP students in content-area classes. These courses target Florida's Category 2 teachers (math, science, social studies, and computer literacy) and Category 3 teachers (other areas). Category 2 teachers take all three courses while Category 3 teachers need only one course. Course content aligns with Florida's requirements. Programs: ESOL for Administrators Meet the challenge of educating a multicultural student population by understanding the background, legal requirements, and instructional stratgies for ESOL students. Programs: ESOL for Guidance Counselors Explore the background and legal requirements for ESOL. Promote the development of English language learners (ELLs) and learn to provide post-secondary and career development guidance.
