Programs: Reading Endorsement
Watch as real teachers model successful strategies in elementary, middle, and high school settings. Learn what research says, implement new strategies in your classroom, and receive feedback from your course facilitator and colleagues through this course series. Explore the five core areas identified by the National Reading Panel: phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Included in each of the interactive online courses in this series are both instructional components and application activities. Content aligns to the indicators for Florida's K-12 Reading Endorsement. Programs: REESOL (Reading Endorsement)
Acquire understanding of reading as a process of student engagement in the construction of meaning. Demonstrate substantive knowledge of language structure, cognition, and differentiated instruction for each of the components: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Learn to use reading assessments to screen, diagnose, monitor progress, and determine outcome measures. Actively engage students in results-producing reading strategies.
Educators with Florida's ESOL Endorsement or Certification may qualify to add Reading Endorsement using the REESOL option.
