Some course summatives require learners to submit a file, photo, or video. The following information provides guidance. Please note: The upload should be completed as the final step before submitting a summative to the facilitator.
UPLOAD REQUIREMENTS:
- The name of your file, photo, or video must only contain letters and numbers. Make sure the name does not include spaces or any special characters.
- The size of your file, photo, or video must be 150 MB or smaller.
- Videos must be in MP4 video format.
Moving a file, photo, or video from a mobile device to a desktop/laptop:
- Locate and select the photo or document on your device.
- Press Share icon (on the device) to access choices or download.
- Select or open your email app.
- Email the attachment to yourself.
- Open the email on your computer.
- Click on the attachment to download it to your computer.
Upload a file, photo, or video from your iOS device (already saved):
- Locate your file/photo/video on your device and ensure Live Photos is off.
- If the Live Photos icon is yellow (or gold), Live Photos is currently turned on and needs to be turned off. This feature only applies to photos,.
- Tap the icon to turn Live Photos off.
- Log in at https://www.beaconeducator.com/
- Open your summative.
- Select Choose Files.
- Select Photo Library or the location of the file/photo/video.
- Select the file/photo/video you want to upload.
Note: Make sure you select and upload the correct format. For example: A file cannot be uploaded as a video; a video cannot be uploaded as a file.
- Click Save & Next or Close if you are not ready to submit the summative.
- Click Submit to Facilitator if you are ready to submit the summative.
Note: A video will not upload if it is too large or in the wrong format. See the Video Process FAQ in the course summative for more information.
Upload a file, photo, or video from an Android device (already saved):
- Log in at https://www.beaconeducator.com/
- Open your summative.
- Select Choose Files.
- Select file, photo, or video you wish to upload.
- Select Open and/or OK if prompted.
Note: Make sure the file, photo, or video upload name is listed next to Choose Files before submission.
- Click Save & Next or Close if you are not ready to submit the summative.
- Click lick Submit to Facilitator if you are ready to submit the summative.
Note: A video will not upload if it is too large or in the wrong format. See the Video Process FAQ in the course summative for more information.
Take a picture or video and upload from an iOS device:
- Log in at https://www.beaconeducator.com/
- Open your summative.
- Select Choose Files.
- Select Take photo or video.
- Take a photo of your document.
- Select Use photo.
Note: Make sure the file, photo, or video upload name is listed next to Choose Files before submission.
- Click Save & Next or Close if you are not ready to submit the summative.
- Click Submit to Facilitator if you are ready to submit the summative.
Take a picture or video and upload from an Android device:
- Log in at https://www.beaconeducator.com/
- Open your summative.
- Select Choose Files.
- Select the camera or camcorder button.
- Take a photo or video.
- Confirm you wish to upload.
Note: Make sure the file, photo, or video upload name is listed next to Choose Files before submission.
- Click Save & Next or Close if you are not ready to submit the summative.
- Click Submit to Facilitator if you are ready to submit the summative.
Scan or use a web cam to take a picture and upload from a computer
- Scan or use the web cam on your computer to take a picture of the document.
- Save the document on your computer.
- Log in at https://www.beaconeducator.com/
- Open your summative.
- Select Choose File.
- Locate your saved document.
- Select Open.
Note: Make sure the file, photo, or video upload name is listed next to Choose Files before submission.
- Click Save & Close or Close if you are not ready to submit the summative.
- Click Submit to Facilitator if you are ready to submit the summative.
Upload a file, photo, or video from a computer (already saved)
- Log in at https://www.beaconeducator.com/
- Open your summative.
- Select Choose File.
- Locate your saved document.
- Select Open.

- Click Save & Close or Close if you are not ready to submit the summative.
- Click Submit to Facilitator if you are ready to submit the summative.
