Module Expectations

Beacon provides two formats for online learning: courses and modules. Courses are facilitated by trained content-area specialists and include multiple summative assessments that must be approved by the course facilitator. Modules are non-facilitated and are assessed with multiple-choice quizzes. This article addresses module expectations.

Module Expectations

  • Read course content, complete Check Your Understanding activities, view video clips, and visit external web links and other resources in each chapter prior to attempting the quizzes.
  • Quizzes cannot be accessed prior to the start date.
  • Learners must score 80 percent or better on each quiz. Learners can retake the quizzes as needed to attain a passing score. A time delay allows the learner to review content prior to taking a quiz again.
  • Automatic withdrawal occurs after the end date of the module if all quizzes have not been successfully completed.
