Included in each of the interactive courses in this series are both instructional components and application activities. The courses are designed to be completed sequentially, culminating in the practicum (Reading 5). Content aligns to the indicators for Florida's K-12 Reading Endorsement.

Reading 1: Foundations of Instruction 2017 Syllabus

Explore reading as a process of student engagement in construction of meaning. Gain substantive understanding of six components of reading as a process: comprehension, oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, and vocabulary.

Reading 5: Demonstration of Accomplishment (60) Syllabus

Through a culminating practicum, teachers demonstrate knowledge of the reading components, assessment, and data analysis by creating and implementing comprehensive, research-based instructional plans. Participants must have completed Reading Competencies 1-4 and have access to students. Verify district acceptance of course prior to registration.
