Explore issues related to teaching English-language learners (ELLs) in the content areas. These courses provide various options for content-area teachers to gain an understanding of effective ESOL instruction. Florida's Category 2 teachers (math, science, socials studies, and computer literacy) may meet ESOL requirements by completing one of the 60-hour ESOL endorsement courses or ESOL: Issues and Strategies. (Check district requirements.) Florida's Category 3 teachers (electives) may meet their requirement by completing ESOL: An Overview.

ESOL - An Overview Syllabus

Engage in an overview of how to meet the educational needs of students for whom English is not their native language. This course meets Florida's ESOL requirements for Category 3 (elective) teachers.
