Gain an understanding of the Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) framework that strives to ensure successful educational outcomes for all students. Learn about the data-driven problem-solving process and how to use multiple tiers to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the six components of MTSS. 

  • Identify the characteristics of the multi-tiers for academic, behavior, and social-emotional supports. 

  • Understand the problem-solving process used in the MTSS framework. 

  • Recognize the similarities and differences between Tier 1, 2, and 3 instruction and intervention for the academic and behavioral systems. 

  • Identify various types of assessment used in the MTSS framework.
