Description

Explore management strategies that lead to improved student motivation and achievement across all content areas and grade levels. Identify methods for creating a positive collaborative learning environment.

Learning Objectives

Participants will 

  • define classroom management. 
  • identify the importance of establishing and maintaining an effective learning environment. 
  • identify the prerequisites for effective classroom management. 
  • identify strategies for creating classroom rules and procedures that support active learning. 
  • identify strategies that reinforce positive behavior using praise and other techniques, as well as consistently imposing consequences for misbehaviors. 
  • describe methods for teaching classroom behaviors and routines that encourage collaboration. 
  • identify proactive strategies that establish and maintain respect in the classroom. 
  • describe management strategies to use before, during, and after instruction in a collaborative environment. 

Documentation Methods

Participants must document their learning by completing the following summative.

1 Multiple Choice Exam - Learner demonstrates knowledge of content by selecting the correct answer from the choices provided.

The summative must meet 80% of the established criteria.
