Description
Acquire strategies for embedding the eight mathematical practices into everyday instruction. Identify changes in instructional practice necessary to engage students in mathematical thinking and understanding.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize the eight Standards of Mathematical Practice (SMP).
- Identify characteristics of a student and classroom that exemplify each mathematical practice.
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of the student and the teacher for each mathematical practice.
- Describe strategies for integrating the eight Standards of Mathematical Practice into a lesson.
- Analyze tasks to identify appropriate use of the mathematical practices.
Documentation Methods
Participants must document their learning by completing the following summative.
1 Multiple Choice Exam - Learner demonstrates knowledge of content by selecting
the correct answer from the choices provided.
The summative must meet 80% of the established criteria.
