Instructional Practices: Differentiated Instruction

Description

Acquire an understanding of differentiated instruction within the K-12 environment. Recognize the purpose of differentiated instruction as it relates to content mastery. Identify strategies included in the planning and instructional processes.

Learning Objectives

  • Define differentiated instruction. 
  • Recognize when differentiation is appropriate.
  • Explore learning styles and multiple intelligences. 
  • Explore methods of differentiating.
  • Distinguish between strategies, modifications, and accommodations.
  • Identify an appropriate planning process for the differentiated classroom.
  • Understand grading after instruction.

Documentation Methods

Participants must document their learning by completing the following summative.

1 Multiple Choice Exam - Learner demonstrates knowledge of content by selecting the correct answer from the choices provided.

The summative must meet 80% of the established criteria.
