Description
Investigate Florida's Code of Ethics, Principles of Professional Conduct for the Education Profession, and the Florida Principal Leadership Standards. Effective school leaders demonstrate personal and professional behaviors that adhere to these expectations. This course addresses FELS Standard 1 and partially meets Florida’s requirement for annual training in ethics and related topics.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate knowledge of the background and history of ethics for Florida educators.
- Identify the tenets of the Code of Ethics exhibited by a school leader.
- Identify the ethical principles of effective school leaders in working with students, the public, and the profession as they relate to Domain 4, Standard 10 of The Florida Principal Leadership Standards.
- Identify the attributes of resiliency, engagement, willingness to admit error, and explicit improvement as they relate to effective school leaders in Domain 4, Standard 10 of The Florida Principal Leadership Standards.
Documentation Methods
Participants must document their learning by completing the following summatives.
1 Multiple Choice Exam - Learner demonstrates knowledge of content by selecting
the correct answer from the choices provided.
1 Reflection - Learner synthesizes previous knowledge and course content in
order to develop a narrative response.
The summatives must meet 80% of the established criteria.
