Description

Acquire an understanding of an inclusive workplace. Learn about laws that protect classes of workers. Understand the actions that employers and employees can undertake to effect inclusive workplaces.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize an inclusive workplace.
  • Identify the benefits of an inclusive workplace.
  • Identify the protected classes in the workplace.
  • Identify a culturally and gender respectful workplace.
  • Identify a varied thinking style workplace.
  • Identify a workplace that is sexuality, multigenerational, and disabilities inclusive.
  • Recognize types of inclusive language.
  • Identify ways to communicate professionally by phone, email, text, and face-to-face conversation.
  • Identify effective ways to deal with personal conflict in the workplace.
  • Recognize characteristics of harassment.
  • Identify federal and state laws concerning harassment.
  • Recognize methods of preventing harassment.

Documentation Methods

Participants must document their learning by completing the following summatives.

1 Multiple Choice Exam - Learner demonstrates knowledge of content by selecting the correct answer from the choices provided.
1 Reflection - Learner synthesizes previous knowledge and course content in order to develop a narrative response.

The summatives must meet 80% of the established criteria.
