Explore five key strategies that lead to a positive and supportive classroom. Learn to apply these positive strategies, especially following an extended disruption in education.
Learning Objectives
- Identify potential emotional triggers that undermine students’ security in the classroom.
- Describe the benefits of a positive and supportive classroom for all students.
- Gain an awareness of classroom strategies that enhance the development of a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Recognize initiation and participation in the MTSS process for student social-emotional and behavioral support when appropriate.
- Recognize record-keeping strategies for organization of social-emotional and behavioral student data.
- Identify the Problem-Solving Team members and examples of the team’s resources.
- Recognize effective strategies for maintaining a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Develop an awareness of and strategies for teacher self-care in order to avoid compassion fatigue.
Documentation Methods
Participants must document their learning by completing the following summative.
1 Multiple Choice Exam - Learner demonstrates knowledge of content by selecting
the correct answer from the choices provided.
The summative must meet 80% of the established criteria.
