ESOL, Reading & Gifted Programs

Beacon's programs are aligned to the latest Florida endorsement standards and are updated regularly to reflect current research. Educators from outside of Florida can also benefit from the content. All courses are facilitated by experts in their field. Pacing is flexible and courses are available 24/7. New sections typically start monthly. Most 60-hour courses are scheduled for 10 weeks.

Reading Endorsement
Beacon’s reading endorsement program consists of five 60-hour courses. For more information, select Reading and then Reading Endorsement under Programs. The Reading Endorsement Quick Fact Sheet provides a program overview.

ESOL Program
The ESOL endorsement program provides five 60-hour courses for Language Arts/Elementary Education teachers. Teachers who require a 60-hour or an 18-hour compliance course can select one of the 60-hour endorsement courses or the 18-hour ESOL: An Overview course. Programs for administrators and for guidance counselors are also available. For more information, select ESOL under Programs. The ESOL Endorsement Quick Fact Sheet provides a program overview. Gifted Endorsement Program
Our gifted endorsement program consists of five 60-hour courses. They align with the curriculum standards established by the National Association for Gifted Children as well as the Florida DOE Gifted Endorsement Standards. The course topics are Curriculum and Instructional Strategies, Educating Special Populations, Guidance and Counseling, Nature and Needs, and Theory and Development of Creativity.
